Celebrity Experts Join Soap Opera Digest as Contributing Columnists

Dr. Gilda Carle Ph.D., best-known as the leading talk show therapist in the business, will pen the regular "Shrink Wrap" column, a humorous yet helpful analysis and commentary of popular soap opera characters' problems. Beginning in the November 11, 1997 issue of the weekly magazine, she will identify problems from daytime drama's most complicated and emotional characters, and offer real-life therapeutic solutions which the magazine's readers will be able to apply to their own lives. "Dr. Gilda" appears regularly on "Sally," was the "Love Doc" for MTV online, and is the resident "Love Doctor" for Teen magazine. She is also the author of the upcoming book, "Don't Bet on the Prince! How to Have the Man you Want by Betting on Yourself" (Golden Books, January 1998).
Lifestyle expert Barbara "B" Smith, host of the nationally syndicated television program "B. Smith With Style," will bring her expertise to "Style Wise," a monthly column beginning in January, which will center on house, home, and the style in which soap opera characters live. She will offer domestic tips and advice for popular characters and their lifestyle, which Soap Opera Digest readers can apply to their own lives. Model and actress B. Smith is a world-renowned restaurateur and leading authority on decorating, gardening, food, and home entertaining. She is also the author of the cookbook, "B. Smith's Entertaining and Cooking for Friends."
Soap Opera Digest, the 22-year-old, highest-circulated weekly soap opera fan magazine in the business, is also host/producer of The Soap Opera Digest Awards, the top-rated annual nationally televised award show, scheduled to air its 14th gala on NBC, February 27, 1998.
