Car and Driver Television to Premiere in January on TNN

Posted on September 22, 1998

Car and Driver magazine will be taking its road show to TNN, starting Jan. 2, 1999. David Pecker, president and CEO of Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, Car and Driver's publisher, announced that production of a full season of magazine-format, half-hour Car and Driver Television shows based closely on content found in the car enthusiast magazine will begin later this year.

Csaba Csere, Car and Driver's editor-in-chief, and his staff will work with RTM to bring the magazine's winning formula to television viewers. "The thrill of driving is such a visual and active experience; we're excited to be communicating even more of that experience to a television audience. Hearing an engine's rumble, watching tire-shredding acceleration, and observing a vehicle swallow passengers and luggage will let us bring our viewers along as we enjoy and evaluate the broad range of vehicles on the American road," said Csere.

Car and Driver magazine, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich., is the largest circulation automotive magazine. Content includes everything from new car previews, road tests and features to industry news and automotive humor.
