Renowned Canadian author, Peter C. Newman, today helped launch ChaptersGlobe.com, a Canadian book destination. The store provides a large online selection of books and book news, reviews and author interviews.
Among its selection of 2.9 million international titles ranging from business to fiction, cooking to computing, the website alliance between Chapters Inc. and The Globe and Mail contains an unprecedented selection of Canadian titles. All books will be sourced from Canadian distributors and publishers whenever possible to support the Canadian book industry.
The book content includes: biographies on nearly 20,000 authors; a comprehensive literary awards listing; editorial ranging from daily book-related news to book reviews spanning the last 20 years; and audio clips of author interviews and readings. The site also includes online discussion forums encouraging visitor participation and an extensive national literary events calendar.
Peter Newman, author of such titles as The Canadian Establishment and The Canadian Revolution, officially launched ChaptersGlobe.com at Chapters' Bloor Street store in Toronto. "This new website allows this country's readers and writers to meet and greet electronically," said Newman. "It's an essential step in expanding Canadian literature's mandate and audience."
