Posted on January 11, 1999

Cahners Business Information has announced the launch of the Supply Chain Link website an online information resource for professionals in supply chain disciplines.

The website leverages the content and editorial expertise of nine publications within the Cahners Supply Chain/OEM Group and serves as a portal site for locating supply chain information on the Internet. It also offers additional articles, news stories, technical analysis, and access to the Manufacturing Marketplace products and services database. Manufacturing Marketplace is an Internet hub for manufacturing and engineering professionals in the OEM, MRO and processing industries.

Topics covered on the Supply Chain Link website include everything from logistics, transportation and purchasing to distribution and planning. Specific content areas include enterprise resource planning, advanced planning systems, MRP, supply chain management, E-commerce, cycle-time, warehouse management systems, bar coding, automatic data capture, EDI, and forecasting. In addition, the user can perform specialized searches to find information on hundreds of related websites.

"Supply Chain Link is the one-stop connection to information about logistics, sourcing, manufacturing, operations, planning, and information technology," says Rusty Piersons, group vice president, Supply Chain/OEM Group. "This website is broad enough to include all areas of the supply chain but also intuitive enough to help initial users pinpoint exactly what they are looking for within that space."

Supply Chain Link is a product of the Cahners Supply Chain/OEM Group, which includes Supply Chain Management Review, Logistics Management & Distribution Report, Purchasing, Industrial Distribution, Warehousing Management, Modern Materials Handling, Automatic Data Collection News & Solutions, Design News, and Global Design News.
