Cadmus Custom Publishing to Create Sotheby's International Realty Domain

Posted on August 3, 1998

Cadmus Custom Publishing has announced that the company, in partnership with Spire, has been chosen by Sotheby's International Realty to create Sotheby's International Realty Domain, a magazine focused on serving readers interested in fine properties and distinctive homes located in the world's most sought-after locations. Sotheby's will partner with the two Boston-based companies to create and distribute the publication.

Cadmus will be responsible for the editorial content, art direction and retail distribution of Sotheby's International Realty Domain. Spire currently handles the design, layout and printing for Sotheby's International Realty's collateral material and consults on the firm's electronic initiatives. Spire will draw on this experience to assist Cadmus with the magazine's production.

Domain is designed to be a reflection of the global resources and expertise of Sotheby's International Realty. Each issue will combine high-quality editorial pieces with information about luxury properties, fine art and antiques available for sale. Scheduled editorial features include authoritative reports on trends in architecture, restoration and conservation, in addition to regular articles on interior and landscape design.

The magazine will be distributed to specific single-copy outlets including retail bookstores and newsstands, airport newsstands and luxury hotels around the world, as well as Sotheby's International Realty's global network of company-owned offices and affiliated brokerages. Initial circulation for the 100-page, four-color publication is anticipated to reach 80,000 to 100,000. The premiere edition will debut in October.

"Our goals for this magazine are twofold," stated Stuart Siegel, president of Sotheby's International Realty. "We hope that Domain will become a source of valuable and entertaining information for our current customers and a forum for introducing our services to a new audience of potential clients. We are confident that the publishing and production expertise provided by Cadmus and Spire will enable us to achieve these objectives."
