BYTE, the monthly high-tech magazine owned by McGraw-Hill Companies announces the appointment of Cynthia Morgan to the position of editor. Morgan's appointment ends the search for this pivotal position within the editorial department.

Morgan comes to BYTE from Windows Magazine, where she has held a number of senior editorial positions over the last 3 years. Prior to that, she was at Government Computer News, where she developed their reviews department and multiplatform network lab.

"Cynthia has a reputation as a strong editorial force, a great writer, and an effective team builder," said Mark Schlack, BYTE editor-in-chief. "Her background as programmer, consultant, instructor and network troubleshooter gives her great insight. In addition, her strong reviews background will be invaluable as we build up BYTE labs."

At BYTE, she will report to Schlack and oversee the daily operations of the magazine, concentrating on the features, reviews, news, and international sections. In addition, Morgan will be in charge of issue planning and oversee the editorial content aspects for the entire magazine.
