Buena Vista Names Kim Mac Leod Vice President, Magazine Group Development

Kim Mac Leod has a new role in The Walt Disney Co. as vice president, Magazine Group Development, of Buena Vista Publishing Group Inc. Steve Murphy, senior vice president of Buena Vista Publishing Group, made the announcement.
Mac Leod will be responsible for the management of magazine prototype development. She will also pursue international publishing opportunities on behalf of the Magazine Group and manage corporate alliances and special promotions across the magazines.
"Kim's breadth of experience in the publishing world positions her perfectly to take on the duties of magazine group development for our company," Murphy said. "I will be relying on her leadership and creativity to broaden our magazine group into new and exciting areas."
Mac Leod joined Buena Vista Publishing Group in February of 1992. Before joining Buena Vista Publishing Group, Mac Leod was the publisher of Working Mother magazine from 1989-1991 and Children magazine from 1986-1989. Prior to that, she served as director of new ventures for Rodale Press, where she was responsible for all acquisitions, mergers and start-ups for the company.
Buena Vista Publishing Group is the U.S. publishing subsidiary of The Walt Disney Co. The group includes Hyperion, Disney Children's Book Group, Licensed Publishing and the magazines Discover, Disney Adventures, Disney Magazine and FamilyFun.
