Britney Spears to Write Novel For HarperCollins

Posted on November 9, 2012

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that pop superstar Britney Spears is about to become a published novelist. The "Oops I Did It Again" singer and current X-Factor judge is on the verge of signing a contract with HarperCollins' It Books, the imprint that has brought us autobiographies of Sammy Hagar, Slash and Motley Crue.

The Hollywood Reporter's source says the deal is similar to the one for reality star Lauren Conrad. Britney will write a roman a clef filled with fictionalized versions of her own life story and experiences. Lauren Conrad has three novels out and they have all sold very well indeed.

Hey, if Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi can write a book, surely Britney can as well? Britney has sold 100 million albums and now pulls in a tidy $15 million a year from her X-Factor gig. We think there's more than enough money available for hiring a top-notch ghost writer. So writers -- get those pitches in now.
