BookWire Unveils Website Redesign

Posted on October 31, 1997

With booksellers and publishers embracing the Internet in growing numbers, BookWire, unveiled a sharp redesign featuring hard-hitting daily news, original reviews and features, and a new "behind-the-scenes" column from industry insiders.

FLAP, a juicy daily column covering insider news and behind the scenes intrigue, will debut as part of the redesign; guest writers will contribute pointed commentary as well. A daily adventure inside the book profession, FLAP will be a place for mischief, fun and information.

Other new original BookWire content includes Soapbox, a place where people in and around the book business can talk about everything from their favorite books to hot trends in bookselling, and Publisher's Spotlight, a paid feature where publishers and authors put their titles in the spotlight, and readers can see the cover, read flap copy, excerpts, testimonials, and more.

Features will now be branded by subject and interest, rather than by source. The revamped home page will be organized by: Reviews, News, Features, FLAP, Soapbox, Bestsellers, and Calendar.
