Posted on September 15, 1997

According to BookWire president Jamey Bennett, who announced the teaming, BookWire will give The Book Report an exclusive advance look at bestseller lists from sister publication Publishers Weekly, which BookWire carries days before publication. In return, The Book Report will supply book reviews and transcripts of its interviews with bestselling authors to BookWire.

"People visit BookWire because we have the best compilation of book news to be had. The Book Report, as a very highly-regarded review source, is a great addition to our offerings," Bennett said. "We're also looking forward to increasing our visibility on AOL."

"BookWire has all the features Authors on the Highway, Publishers Weekly Bestseller lists and insider news that TBR has always wanted to provide to its readers," says Jesse Kornbluth, The Book Report's editor. "With this alliance, TBR can now provide a complete book service to its audience, and, at the same time, the world's largest online service can share traffic with the Web's most informative source of book news."

According to Bennett, the partnership will officially debut at New York Is Book Country, an annual outdoor event for New York's bibliophiles on Sunday September 21.
