Boats.com has announced two acquisitions, SailingSource.com and Scuttlebutt, which expand the company's content offerings. SailingSource.com is a site design, hosting and content provider for sailing and racing websites. Scuttlebutt is a daily online newsletter focusing on competition in North American and events of global importance.

``SailingSource.com and Scuttlebutt are well known brands to the sailing public, founded on the premise of providing online sailing news to a content-hungry audience,'' said Rolando Esteverena, CEO of boats.com. ``Combined with our recent acquisitions of YachtWorld.com, Ovation Digital Productions and the exclusive license to The Power Boat Guide, today's announcement accelerates boats.com's initiative to create the premier online information resource and commerce hub for the boating community and marine industry.''

SailingSource.com provides website hosting and services to the performance sailing and racing community. SailingSource.com provides its 50,000 subscribers with news, weather, classes and events. SailingSource.com will continue to be managed by Dave McCreary, its founder, and other boats.com staff and writers. The business will operate from boats.com headquarters in San Francisco.

Scuttlebutt was created by Tom Leweck of Marina del Rey, CA as a forum to communicate with friends in the Southern California sailing community. A collection of yacht racing news, commentary, gossip and opinions, Scuttlebutt reaches more than 4,500 sailing enthusiasts on a daily basis.
