Bloggers Go to the Polls

Bloggers are voting on the Fifth Annual Weblog Awards, also known as Bloggies. The Bloggies are a set of 30 publicly-chosen awards given to weblog writers and those related to weblogs. The thirty categories include best tagline of a weblog, best writing of a weblog, most humorous weblog, best-kept-secret weblog and best web application for weblogs. There are also awards for regional weblogs and weblogs that focus on a specific subject like entertainment, food, politics and technology.

There is also a Weblog of the Year category. Nominees for Weblog of the Year include Gawker, This Fish Needs a Bicycle, Wonkette, Boing Boing, The South-East Asia Earthquake and Tsunami Blog and Gosamist. Voting will close at 10:00 PM EST on Thursday, February 3.
