Birds Eye Offers World-wide Recipe Search Engine

Posted on May 7, 1998

Birds Eye says it has the largest source of online recipes in the world, numbering in the tens of thousands. Birds Eye's own recipe database, and other recipe repositories on the Web, are at a consumer's fingertips. Users can search by keyword, or browse by ingredient or by type of recipe. Browsing and searching can be limited by the user to only Birds Eye recipes, or can be Internet-wide. The search engine continuously updates its content, and new recipe sites are identified and added on a frequent basis.

Users can also share recipes with other Internet users through Birds Eye's new Recipe Exchange, get nutrition information, create their own personal recipe box and shopping lists and learn about the history of Clarence Birdseye (the founder of frozen foods).

Laura Gordon, Associate Marketing Manager for the Birds Eye brand at Dean Foods, says in a statement, "The Birds Eye web site is another means for us to be helpful to our consumers. With today's busy lifestyle, our web site provides consumers easy access to recipes throughout the world to make dinner planning fast, simple, and fun."
