American Media to Cease of Publication of Soap Opera News and Soap Opera Magazine

American Media Inc. has announced that it has ceased publication of Soap Opera News and Soap Opera Magazine and has sold certain of the trademarks and publishing assets relating to the magazines to Primedia Inc.

American Media Inc. publishes National Enquirer, Star, Weekly World News and Country Weekly. Distribution Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, provides marketing, merchandising and information gathering services to publishing and consumer products companies and to retailers.
