American Education Corporation and Teaching Technology Announce Partnership
Posted on September 3, 1998
The American Education Corporation (AEC) and Teaching Technology, Inc. (TTI) have entered into an agreement to publish TTI's series of "A Year of the Internet" publications in AEC's recently released A+NET authorable software engine technology. This series of publications is currently marketed by TTI to provide teacher training and lesson plans on the incorporation of Internet-based content into functional classroom and computer-based curriculum for the middle and high school grades.
There are currently 11 print publications in TTI's curriculum series dealing with the sciences, social studies, mathematics and the development of cross-curriculum thematic units. TTI provides these printed version products, as well as on-site instructional seminars, to train schools to incorporate Internet sites as a source for instructional content. Additional titles are expected to be released in the future to expand this series.
Jeffrey E. Butler, president and CEO of The American Education Corporation, said, "This partnership benefits AEC because it provides an important 11 title content expansion to our A+dvanced Learning System product family and positions the company and its national distribution system to enter the market for Internet educational applications for the school market. In addition, the publication of these titles in our A+NET software engine, which is a component of the A+dvanced Learning System family of products, stimulates significant school and teacher exposure to our major courseware product line. We believe this exposure may lead to significant other revenue opportunities for the company."
