Amanda Hocking Lands Seven Figure Deal With St. Martin's After Self-Publishing Success

Amanda Hocking, 26, recently signed a seven figure deal with St. Martin's Press. Amanda got her start self-publishing paranormal romance novels in ebook form. The New York Times reports that she sold over one million copies of her nine books before she landed the St. Martin's deal. Amanda's blog can be found here.

Amanda Hocking says she had to write mostly at night because she had another job. She says she used Red Bull to fuel her writing sessions. She also says she priced the initial book in a series as low as possible to get people interested in the series. Take a look:
