Age Wave Expands Publishing Network

Age Wave Communications, publisher of Get Up and GO!, will introduce Tampa Bay editions of the monthly magazine aimed at the 50 plus population in March, 1999, it was announced by Dr. Ken Dychtwald, Age Wave's chairman.

The company has acquired Tampa Bay's award-winning Senior Connection magazine, its fourteenth acquisition in the past two years. Age Wave produces 48 editions of Get Up and GO! in 10 states, making it the country's only national network of local magazines. The publication, which has a circulation of 1.6 million, is distributed free in libraries, banks, book stores, shopping centers, restaurants, supermarkets, retirement communities, medical offices and senior centers.

Kathy Beck will remain with "Senior Connection" which she founded in her garage in 1989. Editorially, it will continue to emphasize the active lifestyles and distinct interests that the readers of Senior Connection have come to expect. It will cover community events, activities and news of regional interest together with national articles focusing on travel, relationships, finance, technology, health and fitness, art and entertainment, careers, individual accomplishments and lifelong learning.
