General Mills Launches 2013 Cheerios New Author Contest

Posted on April 27, 2013

General Mills has launched its 2013 Cheerios New Author Contest in conjunction with its Spoonfuls of Stories campaign, which gives away children's books in Cheerios boxes. Last year's winner was Celeste Jenkins. Her book, The Lost (and found) Balloon, is one of the books being given away in cereal boxes this year. A list of this year's free books can be found here.

The entry form and rules for the contest will be available when they began accepting entries. Entries will be accepted between May 1st and July 31, 2013. The winning book could be featured in specially marked boxes of Cheerios in 2015. General Mills says the author has a chance to be offered a publishing contract with Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing and win $5000.
