New PBS Site Features Veterans' Resources and Stories

ublic television's top-rated National Memorial Day Concert, which airs on Sunday, May 25 at 8:00 p.m. EST, has launched a web site that provides a variety of useful information for veterans and their families as well as to viewers of the broadcast. The web site can be found at http://www.pbs.org/memorialdayconcert.

The National Memorial Day Concert web site provides an uplifting, patriotic and unique perspective on the upcoming holiday concert. The site contains a wealth of information, facts and resources for veterans of war beginning from W.W.II through The Gulf War, and is an excellent resource for writers researching this topic.

A unique interactive component of the National Memorial Day Concert web site includes an area for veterans to share their war time memories of combat, acts of heroism, as well as personal losses and triumphs during war (Selected communications will be posted.).

Additional items to be found on the National Memorial Day Concert web site include:

* Links to veteran resources including other veteran web sites, survivor benefits, online support groups on war-related experiences and more.

* Background information on the popular Washington, D.C.-based live holiday concert, which has aired each year on the PBS since 1990.
