GoPilot Publishing Changes Name to Handheld Media Group

Posted on May 30, 2000

GoPilot Publishing, Inc., a provider of printed and online information resources for the hand held computing marketplace has announced that it has officially changed its name to Handheld Media Group, Inc. in order to better reflect its expansion of services and products to the market and audience it targets.

``Since launching in 1997, the scope and concentration of services that we provide have expanded well beyond publishing. GoPilot Publishing served our audience well; but that audience is growing exponentially as is their need for a variety of information channels -- not just magazines. The 'publishing' didn't accurately reflect the nature of the company and the variety of products and services we've released and plan to release,'' commented Andrew Eisenberg, CEO and publisher of Handheld Media Group.

GoPilot Publishing began in 1997 publishing a small newsletter aimed at the fledgling Palm OS enthusiast. While still focused on the Palm OS, the company now produces three regularly scheduled print magazines, two weekly online newsletters, a quarterly CD and a website for the Palm community. The company will continue to produce and develop printed resources addressing the hand held computing marketplace in addition to its variety of online, web-based products and media offerings.

The company's flagship product, Handheld Computing Magazine (formerly known as Tap Magazine), began as a 12-page, two-color newsletter in 1997. The publication has evolved into a leading printed resource for users of Palm, Handspring Visor, TRGpro and other Palm OS driven handheld devices.
