The First Pages Prize is an annual prize for the first 5 pages of a longer work of fiction or creative nonfiction. The prize debuted in 2018.

The 1st prize winner receives a cash award of $2,000. Other awards include a $1,250 second prize, $750 third place prize and a $500 prize for 4th and 5th.

The contest has $20 entry fee for the February 7th deadline and a $35 entry fee for the extended entry deadline of February 21, 2021.

The judge for the 2021 contest is Lan Samantha Chang, author and director of the Iowa Writers' Workshop.
