Report: Twitter Now Valued at $7 Billion

Twitter's valuation continues to soar despite its lack of profits. Emir Afrati reports for the Wall Street Journal that the company now has a value as high as $7 billion.

Afrati says Twitter is expected to make $150 million in ad revenue this year. That's not anywhere near enough to justify the lofty valuation. However, the company is working on a new ad model that could help give its revenues a big boost. Afrati says the company is not in an IPO rush.

If Twitter could triple its revenues the evaluation would start looking more reasonable. Take a look:
