Harper's Magazine Appoints James Marcus Deputy Editor

Harper's Magazine has announced that James Marcus will join the magazine as deputy editor, effective November 1. He will serve as second-in-command to Ellen Rosenbush, editor of the magazine. Marcus has been editor-at-large at Columbia Journalism Review since 2007. He has also been a senior editor at Amazon.com (1996-2001) and Propeller.com/AOL News (2006-2010).

"James has many years of experience in print and online journalism, which he will bring to Harper's Magazine, and we are looking forward to working with him," Rosenbush said.
