HarperCollins Announces Partnership with MysteryNet.com

Posted on October 30, 1997

HarperCollins and Newfront announced a six-month marketing and advertising agreement that will begin in January 1998 on MysteryNet.com: The Online Mystery Network. The agreement covers banner ads, special book promotions, the exclusive online use of first chapters, and the creation of the HarperCollins Mystery Corner on MysteryNet.com.

The online partnership will feature such well known and best-selling HarperCollins mystery authors as: Tony Hillerman, a past president of the Mystery Writers of America and recipient of the Edgar and Grand Master awards; Stuart Woods, an Edgar Award-winning author whose 16 novels include bestsellers Dead In the Water, Dirt and Imperfect Strangers; Anthony-award winning author Virginia Lanier; a collection of Agatha Christie reprints, and many more.

The announcement was made today at the 28th annual Bouchercon World Mystery Convention being held this year, October 30 - November 2, at the Convention Center in Monterey, California. The convention will draw over 2,000 attendees, including fans, book dealers, publishers, field experts, and more than 300 mystery authors. The convention is named in memory of noted mystery reviewer/NY Times book critic, William Anthony Parker White (a.k.a. Anthony Boucher) who died in 1968. The convention rotates through the east coast, central, and west coast regions of the United States, with odd jaunts to Canada or Europe.
