Posted on May 7, 2014

Dana Perino will publish her memoir in May 2015 through Twelve, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group. The memoir, called And The Good News Is..., will be released in hardcover, ebook, and as an audiobook by Hachette Audio. Perino is a former White House press secretary under President George W. Bush. She was the first Republican woman to serve as the White House Press Secretary. Perino is also a Fox News correspondent and co-host of Fox News' The Five. Deb Futter, publisher and editor-in-chief of Twelve, made the announcement.

Twelve says Perino will reveal lessons that have guided her through a life of challenges and achievements. She will share stories from behind-the-scenes at the White House under President Bush. She also shares stories from Fox News and The Five.

Sean Desmond, editorial director of Twelve, says in a statement, "And The Good News Is... will be a touching memoir about Perino's unlikely start, her best stories from her days as a witness to historic events and now television, and a compendium of all the hard-earned life lessons she picked up along the way. I'm thrilled to have Dana - someone who always knows the best thing to say and how and when to say it - as an author for our Twelve list."

USA Today reports that Perino's book could include reaction to former White House press secretary Scott McClellan's 2008 book, What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception. Perino says she was devastated by the book. She also says President George W. Bush demanded that she forgive McClellan.
