New Collection Contains Fifty Previously Unseen Rudyard Kipling Poems

The Cambridge Edition of the Poems of Rudyard Kipling 3 Volume Hardback Set

A new collection from Cambridge University Press contains fifty previously unseen Rudyard Kipling poems. The collection, The Cambridge Edition of the Poems of Rudyard Kipling 3 Volume Hardback Set, is a three volume set that costs 200 pounds, about $300 U.S.

The Guardian reports that the collection contains over 1,300 of Kipling's poems. The Guardian article also includes one of Kipling's recently discovered poems, called "The Press." Some of the poems are about the first World War. Kipling's son was killed at The Battle of Loos in 1915.

Linda Bree, arts and literature editorial director at Cambridge University Press, told The Guardian, "They are all very engaging, and grab you immediately. A lot are very emotional little poems about the war, about his great identification with the ordinary British soldier, and his anger with the authorities."

The Cambridge collection also provides information about the publication history of each poem.
