BookExpo America (BEA), the largest book industry trade show in North America, will be held in Los Angeles April 30 - May 2, 1999. 25,672 industry professionals attended the convention in Chicago in 1998 where booksellers, publishers, media, and international representatives including agents, scouts and foreign publishers benefited from an inclusive atmosphere which focused on every sector of the book industry.

The American Society of Journalists and Authors 28th Annual Writers' Conference East
May 1 and 2, 1999
Located at New York Hilton Hotel, Sixth A venue between 53rd and 54th Streets the 28th Annual ASJA conference includes keynote speakers A. Scott Berg and Gerald Posner, contracts counseling for writers and writer's workshops.

Korbel is searching for the ultimate toast. The grand prize: a trip for two to New York's Times Square for the Millennium celebration on December 31, 1999.
