NYPD Confiscates OWS Books Again, Salman Rushdie Blasts Mayor Bloomberg

Here we go again. Police raided Zuccotti Park again and for the second time confiscated all the books at the Occupy Wall Street "People's Library." In this video posted by the OWS librarians, you can see police carting away books in the rain at night, while protesters chant: "Shame on you!!" Take a look:

Salman Rushdie blasted New York City Mayor Bloomberg's authorization of the book raid by tweeting, "Nazis destroyed books to 'purify' German culture. Bigots do it in the name of God, or Allah. What's Bloomberg's excuse? 'Hygiene'? #ows."
