Mansion Than Inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald to Write The Great Gatsby Destroyed

The mansion that inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald to write the American classic, The Great Gatsby, is being demolished. The 1902 mansion, located in Long Island, was also the home to lavish parties attended by Albert Einstein, Oscar Wilde, J.P. Morgan and many other high-profile individuals.

Author and historian Monica Randall told CNN that Fitzgerald lived near the mansion and attended some of the parties.

Some nearby residents think the Land's End Mansion should have been preserved. Take a look:
