Zero Dark Thirty and Argo Get Top Honors at Writers Guild Awards

Posted on February 18, 2013

Mark Boal and Chris Terrio won big at the Writers Guild Awards. Boal won Best Original Screenplay for Zero Dark Thirty and Terrio won Best Adapted Screenplay for Argo. The 2013 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for screen, television, radio, news, promotional, videogame, and new media writing were held on two coasts simultaneously: at the JW Marriott L.A. in Los Angeles and the B.B. King Blues Club in New York City. Deadline reports that people at the ceremony on the East coast kept tweeting the winners, so some people in Los Angeles knew who the winners were an hour before everyone else did. Deadline says word spread throughout the L.A. ceremony quickly as everyone kept checking their phones obsessively for news.
