Description: Coffee House Press is an independent literary publisher. They publish both emerging and midcareer authors. They publish about 16 to 18 trade titles per year.

Needs: Coffee House Press publishes literary novels, full-length short story collections, poetry, creative nonfiction, book-length essays and essay collections, and the occasional memoir. They are not looking for anthologies, genre fiction or children's books.

Tips: CHP says it looks for "writing that instructs, inspires, and/or entertains the reader, and that does so with a unique voice."

How to Submit: Coffee House Press says it will start accepting submissions through its Submittable form on September 1, 2018. The number of submissions accepted will be capped at 300 so if you plan to submit you should be ready to go in early September.
