Description: The Virginia Quarterly Review (VRQ) is a national journal of literature and discussion. They have a long history of publishing accomplished and award-winning authors. VQR also seeks out and supports emerging writers.

Needs: VQR is open to poetry, short fiction and nonfiction. They only consider unpublished work.

Payment: VRQ pays $200 per poem for up to 4 poems. They general pay $1,000 and above for short fiction and other prose. See guidelines for complete payment details.

How to Submit: VRQ uses Submittable to manage submissions. Do not email or mail them submissions. Simultaneous submissions are allowed but notify them immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
