Ultimate Sports Entertainment Inc. has announced it has signed a two-year licensing contract with the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA). The contract will give Ultimate Sports the right to publish a series of comic books starring professional hockey stars and the right to pursue other ancillary products including videos, action figures to apparel.

"We are thrilled to be working with the NHLPA -- whose members are the greatest hockey players in the world," said Rick Licht, president of Ultimate Sports Entertainment. "We hope to capitalize on the energy and enthusiasm the fans have for this great sport by creating a number of high quality products featuring their favorite players as superheroes."

Licht said four unique comic book titles will be developed into a series with continuing story lines for each one. The comic books will be released under the Ultimate Sports Force banner during the course of the 1999-2000 NHL season with the first installment scheduled for release this November. Each title will feature at least four hockey superstars.
