Posted on November 8, 1999

ScienceDirect, a provider of a full-text electronic database of scientific, technical and medical research, has announced a licensing agreement to provide publications from Cahners' Electronics Group on ScienceDirect. The licensing agreement will enable content from Cahners' Electronics Group publications to be loaded onto the ScienceDirect platform. Beginning in early 2000, featured content will derive from Cahners' 18 electronics industry publications, including Electronic Business, PCS Systems & Technology, Semiconductor International and Wireless Design & Development, among others. Additional Cahners content from its other business groups will be added to the ScienceDirect Platform later.

"Cahners is very excited to have an opportunity to leverage our science-oriented content by joining forces with a highly successful online business like ScienceDirect," said Corilee Christou, Director of Online and New Media Licensing and Development at Cahners Business Information. "ScienceDirect's stronghold in the academic market will enable Cahners to develop a presence and a distribution channel into a new market complementary to the business information community we already serve."
