Rob Preston Named Editor-in-Chief of CMP Media's InternetWeek

CMP Media's InternetWeek has named Rob Preston its Editor-in-Chief. Preston joins InternetWeek from sister publication InformationWeek, where he most recently served as senior managing editor. His industry expertise and 12 years of editorial management experience in technology journalism will help InternetWeek serve the unique needs of its readers not only in print, but also online and through face-to-face events, according to Publisher Patricia Schnaidt.

"Rob's knowledge of the vendors, trends, and products that are shaping the Enterprise Internet market and his experience in running a large editorial operation will be invaluable to us," said Schnaidt. "InternetWeek is already the most important print publication for network/IS managers strategically deploying Internet technologies to transform their enterprise networks. Under Rob's leadership, we will continue to extend the brand franchise beyond print into a variety of media platforms that add value to IT buyers and the advertisers who need to reach these professionals," she said.

Previously, Preston held a number of key editorial management positions at both InformationWeek and at CommunicationsWeek International, which CMP has since sold. Preston replaces Mitch Irsfeld, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. John Foley has been named InformationWeek's senior managing editor, replacing Preston.
