Over 6 Million LinkedIn Passwords Reportedly Leak Online

LinkedIn, a business social network, had 6.5 million user passwords stolen and leaked online. PC World has a FAQ about the hack, which says 6.5 million hashed LinkedIn passwords were posted in a forum and many of these passwords have already been cracked.

LinkedIn says in a blog post that it will invalidate compromised passwords and sned emails to users with instructions on how to reset their passwords.

The AP reports that there is concern that LinkedIn users may use the same password for LinkedIn as they do for other services. This is likely true for at least some users, because some people do use the same passwords for multiple services. Take a look:
