InternetTelephony Launches NewsNow

Posted on June 8, 1999

The editorial staffs of Telephony and Global Telephony announced at SUPERCOMM '99 their plans to launch NewsNow: a new section of internetTelephony that will provide daily news coverage. Launching June 14, and updated every day, NewsNow will give users immediate access to announcements, mergers and other key events shaping the industry.

"Adding daily news coverage to internetTelephony is an effort to maximize the Web's capabilities," said Telephony Publisher Mark Hickey. "But it's also a response to industry evolution. Major telecom developments happen every single day-and industry leaders need to know and understand these changes as they happen."

Since launching in 1995, internetTelephony has expanded its delivery of unique information, with live coverage from key industry trade shows and features found only on the Web. A re-design in early 1999 added Ezine Exclusives: an entire area of Web-only content. The area includes The Beat, Between Editions, InFocus, The Analyst's Corner and The Fast Track, and now will also house NewsNow.

"The addition of NewsNow is a truly defining moment for internetTelephony," said Global Telephony Publisher Bill Mahoney. "We're taking a really strong product and making it even more powerful."
