Cars 3 Tops Box Office With $53 Million Opening

Cars 3 had a big enough opening to stay ahead of Wonder Woman and win the box office. It opened with $53.5 million. This is less than the $66 million Cars 2 made in 2011 but it is still impressive, especially since Cars 3 was up against Wonder Woman. It is enough to keep Disney's strong Cars franchise alive. Olaf's Frozen Adventure Trailer Released

Disney has a new Frozen short film coming out this fall. The holiday-themed short, called Olaf's Frozen Adventure, will air in front of Coco, a Disney-Pixar animated film. Wonder Woman Dusts The Mummy To Top Weekend Box Office

Wonder Woman easily won the box office for a second straight weekend. Tom Cruise and The Mummy were no match for Gal Gadot and Wonder Woman continued to dominate in theaters. Explosion at Ariana Grande Concert Kills at Least 19, Possible Suicide Bomber

There was an explosion earlier tonight at the Manchester Arena in the U.K. The explosion is believed to be terrorism and there are indications it was a suicide bomber. The attack followed shortly after the end of an Ariana Grande concert. The explosion is thought to have occurred just outside the foyer of the arena and not inside the building itself. Read more... Alien: Covenant Tops Weekend Box Office

The Aliens movies continue to perform at the box office. The latest return of the Xenomorph, Alien: Covenant, made $36 million to open in first place.
