  • The It movie is a monster hit. The film based on Stephen King's novel featuring Pennywise had a $117 million opening. This is the best opening weekend ever for a horror movie. The scary film also had the best opening day for a horror movie at $51 million. It is the second best opening for an R-rated movie after Deadpool.   • The Hitman's Bodyguard Tops Box Office for Third Consecutive Weekend

  • The Hitman's Bodyguard has now topped the box office for the third consecutive weekend. It won the weekend by making just $10.3 million in theaters - about the same amount it made last weekend. The film starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson fell by just 0.1%. The Hitman's Bodyguard was followed by Annabelle: Creation.
