Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta in Shades of Blue

The first trailer for Jennifer Lopez's new cop show just dropped and it's impressive. Barry Levinson, the Oscar-winning director of Rain Man, directed the pilot which features JLo as a cop and single mother who gets tricked into becoming and FBI informant against her fellow cops.

Jennifer plays Harlee Santos a detective. Her boss Lieutenant Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta) runs a tight crew and he expects total loyalty. In the trailer Harlee and her partner Michael (Dayo Okeniyi) bust into an apartment hearing gun shots and Michael shoots the guy dead. But he had no gun, it was just a videogame they heard. Harlee springs into action and promptly cleans the crime scene like a pro, faking evidence to exonerate her partner. She seems to get away with this, but the FBI nabs her when she takes cash from an informant.

Yes, it appears that Matt's crew isn't exaxtly on the straight and narrow. The FBI forces her to become an informant against her colleagues otherwise they will send her to jail and leave her daughter Christine (Sarah Jeffrey) without a mother. Unfortunately, Matt is very good at finding moles and soon Harlee is in a lot of danger.

The pilot looks very interesting and we love JLo, so we're in for this one. Shades of Blue premieres on January 14th at 10pm ET/9 pm CT and will air on Thursdays on NBC. Take a look:
