Harry Potter Snubbed by Academy, Left Out of Best Picture Nominees

Nine films were nominated for Best Picture for the 84th Academy Awards. The Academy could have selected ten films, but opted for just nine. This left out Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which deserved to be one of the films up for Best Picture this year. Here is the list of Best Picture nominees:

Hugo (11 nominations) and The Artist (10 nominations) dominated the 84th Academy Award nominations. Hugo had nearly twice as many nominations as Moneyball and War Horse, which had six nominations each.
