The first trailer for Ron Howard’s authorized Beatles documentary The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years has dropped. Ron Howard has been a Beatles fan since he was a kid and now he's releasing the first official Beatles documentary. There have been many films about the Beatles, but until now the technology didn't exist to show actual concert footage with digitally remastered sound.

Howard told Rolling Stone in an interview that they have the restored Super 8 video of the band in concert, but it has no sound. They also have the sound recordings and have managed to sync the two, which was quite the technological challenge. Howard explained, "We can now sync it up and create a concert experience so immersive and so engaging, I believe you’re going to actually feel like you’re somewhere in the sixties, seeing what it was like to be there, feeling it and hearing it. And as a film director, that’s a fantastic challenge.”

The film covers the four years from 1962 - 1966 in which the band changed the music world. The film will put the band's meteoric rise in perspective against the social and political upheaval of the time. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr were very young when they became global superstars who played to stadiums full of screaming fans. In the trailer, Paul McCartney says, "We were kids...e were all pretty scared."

In addition to Sir Paul, the film includes interviews with Ringo Starr, Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and George Harrison's widow Olivia Harrison. The film will be released on September 16, 2016, and will then stream on Hulu. Take a look:
