Stephen Lang with a gun in Don't Breathe movie

The horror film Don't Breathe has topped the box office for the second weekend in a row. The film stars Jane Levy and Stephen Lang. The second box office win for Don't Breathe comes as Morgan failed to draw moviegoers.

Don't Breathe was followed by Suicide Squad which added $10 million and is just about $2.5 million shy of the $300 mark. Pete's Dragon made $6.4 million and finished third during its fourth weekend in theaters. Pete's Dragon was followed by Kubo and the Two Strings and Sausage Party.

The Light Between Oceans opened in sixth place and made about $5 million in 1,500 theaters. The romantic drama stars Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Rachel Weisz. It has a B+ CinemaScore.

This weekend's big bomb was the science fiction thriller Morgan. The film made just under $2 million in 2,020 theaters for a very low per theater opening average $970. Morgan has a C+ score. The film's Rotten Tomatoes score of 42% is not great but not low enough to explain such a weak turnout.
