The Interpreter and the Angry Novelist

At the end of Nicole Kidman's new film, The Interpreter, there is a strange notation in the credits for "the help of The Interpreter by Suzanne Glass." Publisher's Weekly has the interesting backstory to that credit. Author Suzanne Glass wrote a book about a U.N. interpreter who overhears a plot at the U.N. Her book was shopped around Hollywood, but the studios passed. But when Ms. Glass that a movie called The Interpreter had been greenlighted, she hired a lawyer. A lengthy battle ensued and Ms. Glass isn't talking (no doubt because of one of those pesky confidentiality agreements). But the word is that Ms. Glass picked up a movie credit and a cash settlement from the would-be copyright thieves. Good for her.
