Simon and Schuster Launches Spirituality Imprint Called Enliven

Posted on March 23, 2015

Simon and Schuster's Atria Publishing Group is launching a new spirituality and self-improvement imprint called Enliven. The imprint's Publisher-at-Large is author and Fair Trade entrepreneur Zhena Muzyka. She will be based in Ojai and Los Angeles, California.

Ms. Muzyka is a savvy choice for the new imprint. She is the author of Life by the Cup: Ingredients for a Purpose-Filled Life of Bottomless Happiness and Limitless Success. The book tells the story of her journey from being a broke single mother with a very sick child who needed an operation to a successful entrepreneur and owner of a multi-million dollar tea business that supports fair trade and green practices in the tea business. Her teas are sold in teashops and stores nationwide. Zhena's Gypsy Tea was founded on the principles of tea making and life lessons learned from Ms. Muzyka's gypsy grandmother who was from Ukraine.

So what kind of books will Enliven be looking for? Ms. Muzyka says, “Our authors embody fresh voices in empowerment, creativity and spirituality in the 21st Century." She says the imprint's mission is to "increase literacy, uplift humanity, ignite genius and be part of a soulful exchange of ideas with each title we publish.”

The imprint has two books lined up for 2015. First up is Bouncing Forward by Michaela Haas, PhD. Dr. Haas focuses on the survivors of trauma who have managed to heal and become successful despite their experiences. The book focuses on Post Traumatic Growth research from a Buddhist and clinical perspective. It includes inspiring stories from survivors who reveal how they coped with their trauma to reclaim their lives.

Also on the release list in 2015 is Convergence Healing: 7 Steps to Lovingly Heal Your Pain by Peter Bedard. This book presents a method of healing chronic pain, whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual. In 2016 titles will include Music and Mantra by Girish, which teaches mediation by using 21st century neuroscience and ancient singing traditions, Origin, a collection of inspring stories and interviews from the magazine of the same name, Be Brave, the complementary book to the documentary about filmmaker Daniel Northcott and his message of unity, and Meeting the Mandala by Lama Tsultrim Allione which is about how sacred mandala art can heal the mind.

To get an idea of the tone of the imprint, here is the compelling book trailer for Life by the Cup, which made us want to 1) make a cup of tea and 2) buy her book immediately:
