Rod Stewart Talks Overcoming Writer's Block

Rod Stewart overcame writer's block for his new album, Time, which just arrived in stores. Stewart says it was the longest writer's block in history. Stewart says his writer's block lasted about 20 years, although he did publish other material during that period, including songbooks and his autobiography. Stewart credits his autobiography, Rod, with helping overcome writer's block. Reviewing his past gave him new ideas for songs.

Stewart says his favorite song from Time is "Can't Stop Me Now." He says the song is a tribute to his father and a story about his start in the music business and his early rejections. Take a look:
