Random House to Switch to Digital Catalogues Next Year

Posted on September 9, 2011

Publishers Weekly reports that Random House is moving to digital catalogues. Random House spokesperson Stuart Applebaum says the publisher's goal is "to transition to paperless catalogues as our primary, broadest, and most effective platforms for presenting a complete, continuously updated seasonal overview of our forthcoming frontlists to our accounts and to our other constituencies."

HarperCollins is already using digital catalogues and Macmillan and Simon & Schuster are switching to digital in 2012.

Publisher catalogues contain information about books coming out in the next quarter. They also contain information about the marketing plans for the books.
