Remembering Super Mario Bros the Movie

The adaption of video games into movies really first began back in 1993 with Super Mario Bros. starring Bob Hoskins (Mario), John Leguizamo (Luigi) and Dennis Hopper (King Koopa). Samantha Mathis played Princess Daisy in the film.

Information about the movie can be found on IMBD.com. In the film the Mario brothers try and rescue Princess Daisy from a Koopa in an alternative universe ruled by dinosaurs. Super Mario Bros. was not a box office hit. The film mad about $20 million on a budget of about $42 million. Here is a look at the trailer:

The recently released Doom movie starring the Rock is not faring much better at the box office. It made just $15.5 million during its opening weekend.
