Bill Murray Considers the Writer's Life

Posted on February 15, 2005

Bill Murray, 54, the Oscar-nominated star of Lost in Translation and The Life Aquatic and celebrity golfer at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, is considering a career change. Apparently, Murray has always wanted to write a play.

Murray told the MRIB, "I've been thinking about changing careers. Would it be really bold to say 'I did that, I had some success in it, but was I put here to do that only?' I'd like to write, really. I think I'd like to write a play. I always thought I should write."

Well, it wouldn't be the first time that a comic actor has turned out to be a good writer; Steve Martin has written well-received plays and bestselling novels, after all.
