War Room Tops Box Office Ending Straight Outta Compton's Streak

War Room topped the box office this weekend. The drama directed by Alex Kendrick made $9.5 million during its second weekend in theaters. This prevented Straight Outta Compton from winning the box office for a fourth consecutive weekend.

Straight Outta Compton made $8.9 million and finished second. It has now made $147 million after four weekends in theaters. Compton was followed by A Walk in the Woods, which opened third. It stars Nick Nolte, Robert Redford and Emma Thompson and has a B CinemaScore. The film made $8.2 million.

The Transporter Refueled, a new entry in the Transporter action thriller franchise, opened in fourth and made $7.2 million. The film stars Ed Skrein as Frank Martin, the Transporter. The film has a B- CinemaScore.

Transporter Refueled was followed by Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation which fell just 12% from the previous week. It made $7.2 million to bring its total gross to $180 million after six weeks in theaters. Rogue Nation was followed by No Escape, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Sinister 2. The animated Spanish language film Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos opened in ninth and made $3.4 million.
