Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Costner Star in Trailer for Criminal

Lionsgate has released the full trailer for Criminal, an interesting sf tinged thriller starring Kevin Costner and Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds plays Bill Pope a CIA agent who is killed before he can pass on crucial information to his bosses. Using an experimental technique, the CIA implants the agent's memories and skills into the mind of a death row inmate named Jericho Stewart (Kevin Costner).

Stewart is a sociopath who has no empathy at all and is a career criminal. The CIA was hoping to get someone with Pope's skills and knowledge and Stewart's lack of concern about killing people, but it doesn't quite work out that way. Stewart gets a conscience along with the new memories which complicates his new mission.

Gal Gadot is Pope's grieving widow. Gary Oldman is Quaker Wells, the CIA exec in charge of this crazy project and Tommy Lee Jones is Dr. Franks, the guy who carries out the experiment. The film also stars Alice Eve, Antje Traue, Michael Pitt and Robert Davi. The film was directed by Ariel Vromen (The Iceman).

This is the second time that Ryan Reynolds has starred in a movie in which people's consciousness gets moved around into a different body. This time the SF elements take a backseat to what looks like a very entertaining action thriller. The film hits theaters April 15th. Take a look:
